Eva Kay Johnson

Born Thursday, March 24, 1955 to Jemima and Davis “Bug” Owens, Eva lived a beautiful and remarkable life in Dayton, Ohio among a community of family and friends she built. As a graduate of Stebbins High School class of 1973, she went on to have a career of over 30 years with Kroger.

In 1975 Eva met her future husband Daniel Johnson and eventually tied the knot on October 7, 1977. They started their family in 1979 with a son, Daniel Johnson Jr. He went on to give Eva two grandchildren who she loved more than anything: Katelynn and Daniel Johnson III.

Eva was strong willed and stubborn at times, but had an enormous heart and unmatched desire to help those she loved. Her fierce loyalty and love lives on through her loving husband, Daniel Johnson Sr., steadfast brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Helen Owens, devoted son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Jr. and Jessica Johnson, and grateful grandchildren, Katelynn and Daniel Johnson III. Eva’s fiery and vibrant spirit will never fade in the minds of all the friends and family she's left behind.

She was a pivotal spoke in our wheel and will be greatly missed. It will take a strong sense of community and family to keep our wheel turning. Please join us in honoring our beloved Eva Kay Johnson.

A visitation for Eva will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM following an additional visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Far Hills location listed previously. A final resting place will occur at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 170 North Valley Road, Xenia, Ohio 45385.
