Evelyn Marie Elliott

ELLIOTT,Evelyn Marie (Berner), August 1, 1929, age 87, passed from this world Saturday, October 8, 2016. She is survived by two loving daughters and their husbands, Deb (Elliott) & Chris Majoros and Kathy (Elliott) & Barry Weaver, five devoted grandchildren and their spouses, Ben & Nikki (Weaver) Powell, Kerry Weaver, James & Jessica (Majoros) Braksick, Cory & Heather Weaver , and Michael Majoros, four great-grandchildren, Lilly Powell, Riley Weaver, Logan Powell, and Landen Powell, and her brother Joe Berner. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Kemper Elliott; they were married for fifty-three years. Evelyn graduated from Centerville HS in 1947 and although she was employed at NCR in the early 1950’s, the focus of her life was her family and friends. She was often involved in Centerville activities, from the Centerville High School Coeds to the Centerville Americana Festival. Evelyn and Dick made friends everywhere they went. From the Florida Keys, to Lake Cumberland, to their daily walks at the Dayton Mall, and their buddies at “Breakfast Club” she and Dick enjoyed a rich and rewarding life; together they were fixtures at their grandkids sporting events. Evelyn’s great-grandchildren were a source of immense cheer; nothing lights up a Mom, Grandma, and Great –Grandma like a little one that has to crawl up on Great-Grandma’s lap. Life-long friend Gail Berner was a special bright spot in Evelyn’s life. Particularly in her later years Gail was a true friend and constant, reliable support. She added much to Evelyn’s life, and the family emphatically appreciates all she did. The family will receive friends Monday, October 17, 2016 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Dayton, OH 45429, from 10 am until time of service at 11 am. Pastor Donald Payne, officiating. Interment, Centerville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Miami Valley.
