
MILLER, Everett, age 98, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, April 10, 2014. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy; his parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his sons: Richard of Dayton and Michael (Eileen) of Indianapolis; daughter-in-law Nancy Miller; grandchildren: Scott (Daniela) Miller of Winston-Salem, NC, Wayne (Maria) Miller of Arlington, MA, Amy (Jon) Helmke of Dubuque, IA, and Christy (Jason) Dehning of Allendale, MI; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Sword of Twin Falls, ID, Gertrude Levak of Davin, WV, Juanita Bridgeman of Pikeville, KY; brother, Sherman Miller of San Antonio, TX; Long time neighbor, Nancy Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Everett graduated from Pikeville College and University of Dayton; was also a WWII veteran, retired teacher at Dayton City schools and worked for over 30 years at NCR’s Old River Park. He enjoyed volunteering at Miami Valley Hospital and the Life Enrichment Center and longtime member of the Higher Ground Methodist Church in Dayton. Funeral services will be held at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver Ave., on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 12:00pm. Visitation will take place from 11:00am until the time of services. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Bethel Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made in Everett’s name to Higher Ground Methodist Church, 4800 N. Dixie Dr., Dayton, Ohio 45414 or to the Life Enrichment Center, 425 N. Findley St., Dayton, Ohio 45404.
