

LEWIS, Florence, age 95, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at The Hospice of Dayton, after a long, full and enjoyable life. She was born October 30, 1916 in Wapakoneta, the daughter of George and Marie Kantner. Florence is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and loving husband, Bert. She is survived by her children: David and Sarah Lewis, Tim and Carol Lewis, and Jean and Denny Scarlett-McCloskey; her grandchildren: Kim and Karri, David and Jennifer, and Eric. She will be dearly missed by her extended family, seven great- grandchildren and many friends. Florence graduated in 1939 from Miami Valley Hospital’s Nursing Program. She was the President of the Ohio Industrial Nurses Association and also served on their Board of Directors. Florence retired after 30 years of service from the Inland Division of GM as an industrial nurse. She was a long time member of both the Eastern Star and St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Services for Florence will be held at Tobias Funeral Home- Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave at Fauver, on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11:00am. Friends and family may call on the funeral home from 10:00am until service time on Friday. Following the services, entombment will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 8200 W.
