

Walling, Florence Ann, age 66, of Beavercreek passed away peacefully on Monday, June 20, 2016, at the Pristine of Beavercreek after a brief illness. She was born in Dayton on November 3, 1949, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Rose) Garrett, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Scott Walling , her niece, Carrie Eckstein and her nephew, Joseph Walling. Florence is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jerome J. (Jerry) Walling; two sons, Brett Walling, Adam (Holly) Walling and their children, Drake, Stella and Scarlett; three sisters, Janet (Robert) Coblentz, Linda (Tom) Kerns, Sandra (Gary) Eckstein. She is also survived by numerous extended family members. Florence was the Valedictorian of Northridge High School Class of 1969 and went on to attend the University of Dayton on a Full Tuition Academic Scholarship. She graduated in the summer of 1972 with a Bachelor Degree in Education and furthered her education by attaining her Master’s in Education in 2003 . Florence taught at Trotwood Jr. High School for 1 year, Studebaker Jr. High for 1 year and Weisenborn Jr. High School in Huber Heights for 2 years. She recently retired as a teacher in The Dayton Public School System after 19 years of service. Florence was an active member of The Church of the Ascension. A Loving Mother, Supporter of Scouting and her husband, she will be remembered by all and greatly missed. Prayers will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. from The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive. Final resting place will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, June 27, 2016.
