Georgie-Ray was preceded in death by her mother Georgie E. Kline and her father Dr. Raymond F. Kline along with her brother Gary Kline. Georgie Rays sister-in-law, Regina Rosier and in-laws Dianne and Darrel Rosier.
Georgie-Ray was a life long resident of Beavercreek and graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1969. She received her bachelor’s degree in science and education from Wright State University and her masters degree from McGregor Hall Antioch College.
Georgie-Ray was employed by Beavercreek City Schools as a science teacher and gave 37 years of loyal and faithful service. She taught exclusively at Ferguson Middle School. Teaching was her passion, and she taught a little over 5,000 students. She cared very deeply about all her students and was always there for them to help with any problem in school or at home. Later in her career each class would begin with her motto of " We will do our best to be our best" and that is what she wanted for all her students. Georgie-Rays love of her "critters" was well known. She always had a variety of exotic animals, fish and frogs for her students to enjoy and learn from.
During Georgie Rays tenure she began and was the advisor of Fergusons first drill team. She held countless science fairs and was a volleyball coach as well. Georgie-Ray was teacher of the year, and she received 18 governor awards for Outstanding Excellence in teaching in the classroom. She also began the first Science Olympiad team in which students would compete in science events at the local, reginal, state and national level. While she was always shy of praise her greatest tribute was the plethora of students who would return to visit her before going to college or entering the military. and speak of the positive effect she left upon them and that they would carry with them always.
Georgie-Ray had a deep love of her country and a soft spot for all who served in the military to defend it. She was heavily involved in the Patriot Pen/ Voice of Democracy program sponsored by the local VFW of which she was a member. One of her proudest moments was when a student went all the way to the national competition and won first place. in Washington DC.
Georgie-Ray had a fondness of the ocean and cherished every moment spent at one. She enjoyed going to rock and mineral shows and bought many examples that were on display in her classroom. She enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets and antique shows of which she was a collector of different types of antiques.
Above all else was Georgie-Rays love of family. To say she was an angel on our shoulders would be an understatement. She always selflessly gave her time, help and care to whomever needed it. She was truly an amazing person and how she always came through for her family. She is and will forever be terribly missed and mourned.
Georgie-Ray is survived by her husband of over 40 years William Rosier of Beavercreek, her brother-in- law, James Rosier of Urbana and her niece Meredith Rosier and husband Chris Matheny.
Per Georgie-Rays wishes, a private service was held at Tobias of Beavercreek with her interment at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn.
Our sweet Georgie-Ray, you were taken from us much too soon, but the battle is done now. Until we are all united again may you rest in eternal peace in God’s hands.
