

Glen Evan Tonini, age 86, formerly of Kettering, died on Monday, August 8, 2024, in Sarasota, Florida. Glen was born February 12, 1938, in Burlington, Iowa. He grew up in Oakwood, Ohio and graduated from Oakwood High School. He proudly served as a medic in the US Navy. He was employed in Sales by several companies for Fire Protection - most notably Fyr-Fyter in Dayton and Cintas in Cincinnati, Ohio. He fully retired in 2016 and moved to Sarasota, Florida in October 2020 for his final years.
He was an outgoing person who enjoyed family & friends and dining out – especially at the Dayton Racquet Club & Oakwood Club. Glen was also an avid gun collector and a long time NRA member. He enjoyed going to shooting ranges as a hobby when younger. He also had an extensive tool shop where he tinkered with numerous household projects and prided himself on being the family handyman.
Glen is survived by his sister Carolyn (Bill) Winger, stepchildren Kathy & Michael (Mary) Manchester, step great-grandchildren Gavin & Mason Manchester & their mother Melissa Oran, step grandniece Maggie Downing, nieces & nephews in the Tonini and Bunch families including niece Wendy (Vince) Lewis and nephew William (Bill) Winger, Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Tonini, parents August & Helen (Bunch) Tonini, brother William Tonini, step-grandson Alexander Manchester and step niece Ljubica Ilic-Downing.
Friends and family are invited to attend the viewing from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45429. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the funeral home. Reverend David Tackett officiating. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
