

York, Harold M., age 83 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Patriot Ridge Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Ethel York, and five brothers. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sue York. Three children also survive him: Greg York and wife Wendy of Lebanon, Sheila Daniel and husband Robert of Dayton and Cathy York (Sandra Jarrett) of Troy. Four brothers survive him: Charles, Robert, Gene and Ronald York, as do two sisters, Vivian Posey and Lou Heizer and six grandchildren: Jules Daniel, John Daniel, Carly York, Kristin York, Brandon Kinton and Benjamin York and six great-grandchildren: John Jr., Anthony, Jackie, Jacob and Rhea Daniel and Braylon York. Harold was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action. He was retired from General Motors in 1998, having worked as an electrician and was a member of both the UAW and IBEW. He enjoyed gardening and photography and was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix just about anything. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Monday evening, August 12 from 5 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 13 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery following the funeral.
