Helena Tarter

Tarter, Helena Fay age 79 of Dayton, Ohio passed away after a brief illness on August 3, 2011. She was born to the late Roscoe and Goldie Pierce, May 30, 1932, near Somerset, KY. Helena graduated from Nancy High School in 1949, in Nancy, KY. She was married to Amos Tarter, Nov. 2, 1950. She worked at Esther Price Candies for 23 years, in Dayton, and was a dear friend of Esther Price. She is survived by her husband of 60 yrs, Amos L. Tarter of Dayton; Son, Michael Tarter and Joyce Tarter of Dayton; Daughter, Pamela Covey and Douglas Covey of Dayton; Grandson Andrew Tarter and Stephanie Tarter of Dayton; Granddaughter, Amy Tarter and Fiancee, Zach Byrne of Louisville, KY; Sister, Linda Green and Clifford Green of Atlanta, GA; Sister, Phyllis Campbell and Royce Campbell of Windsor, KY; Brother, Lee Pierce and Barbara Pierce of Windsor, KY; and many nieces and nephews. Helena was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother, and a very giving person. She will be greatly missed by her family. Funeral Service 2 pm Saturday August 6, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Ave at Rahn Rd. Pastor Jerry Siler officiating.
