Jack served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He served in the German Occupation Forces and earned Medals for Army of Occupation (Germany), Good Conduct, Marksman, and Sharpshooter. Upon his return to the US, he went on to work in Real Estate, earned his broker’s license, founded his own firm, Boesch Realty and bought a farm in Bellbrook, OH. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on the farm raising Angus cattle and boarding horses. He later joined Heritage Realtors (now Coldwell-Banker Heritage Realtors) as a partner and worked there for over thirty-five years until his retirement on 12/12/12. Jack thoroughly enjoyed his time at Heritage Realtors and was especially proud of his work opening new offices and serving as a mentor to new agents.
Jack enjoyed giving back and served in many volunteer capacities throughout the years. He was a member of the Bellbrook Jaycees and Lions Club, always volunteering for the Ham and Blanket Wheel at the June Jamboree and Lions Club Carnivals. Karen and Susan always knew that on the final night Jack would win them each a stuffed animal. Jack served on the Sugarcreek Township Zoning commission from 1973 until 1992. He was a member of the Dayton Agonis Club for many years and served as President in 2009. He was a Golden Flyer UD Alumni member. He was the president of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors in 1973. Truly the epitome of Flyer Faithful, Jack was an avid UD fan – he held Men’s Basketball season tickets from the days in the fieldhouse until the present day.
Jack was a well-known face to the staff and customers of the Oakwood Club having patronized it from 1962 when the Stewart Family opened the restaurant. More times than not you could find him at the end of the bar meeting new people and enjoying life. Special thanks to Lance and the OC team for all the great memories. Jack never met a stranger, anytime you were in a social setting with Jack he would run into people he knew. Even when he was halfway across the world, he would find people he knew as happened one time when he was vacationing in Vietnam. Jack loved to travel, he and Sue saw much of the world together. One of his favorite places was the beach in Longboat Key, Florida where he enjoyed reading and watching the beautiful sunsets from their balcony.
He was a long-time member of St. Albert the Great Church in Kettering.
Jack was loved and adored by his family and his passing leaves a large whole in many hearts, we are grateful for the many years of love, laughter and great times and know that he is at peace.
