

Frommeyer, James Sr. 67 passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020. He was preceded in death by his daughter Elissa, parents Joseph and Dottie Frommeyer, and sisters Carole and Mary Jo. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Mary (Franz), daughter Amanda, son James Jr (Jena) and grandson James III “Trey”, his twin brother Donald (Barb) and sister Sandra, and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Jim is also survived by a loving group of dear friends from his Carroll High School class of 1971. Jim was very active at Carroll High School, having been the football team statistician for 15 years, coaching high school softball and youth wrestling and, more recently as a member of the Athletic Hall of Fame selection committee. He was a decorated OHSAA wrestling official for 47 years. Jim was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan attending many Opening Day games as well as, the final games at both Riverfront Stadium and Crosley Field. Having been a season ticket holder for nearly two decades, he was a charter member of the Reds Hall of Fame Dayton Chapter and would never let a gate attendant separate his ticket book, because, “This could be the year...” He was also a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Light Council 14891 at Ascension Church and a member of the Council 500, Fr. Kuhlman Assembly reaching the level of 4th Degree Knight. Prayers will be said at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020, from the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive with Father Ed Pratt as the celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Donations can be made in Jim's honor to Carroll High School at www.carrollhs.org.
