

Golden, James Carter age 64, of Dayton, died Friday September 7, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne Golden; step-daughter, Monique and granddaughter Anabella of Dayton; cousin, Dr. Shirley F. Shiff of Fort Wayne, IN and nephew Gregory E. Shiff of New York. Born in Cincinnati, OH. April 18,1948 to James T. Golden and Catherine Carter. Jim was an exceptional intellect, attended two years of Political Science at the University of Cincinnati. During the 1960’s following his passion for writing he went onto writing for comedy writers such as Roger Dangerfield in New York. The love for traveling took him to the French Quarters in New Orleans where he worked at renown French Restaurants. His mother, a scientist instilled a deep interest from a young age into topics like science, history, and music which would become the focus of his entire life. His father, a journalist with The Cincinnati Enquirer was nominated for the most honored award in journalism, the Pulitzer Prize. Jim joined Delphi, a division of General Motors in Dayton in the mid 1970’s where he worked for 29 years before transferring to the Shreveport Assembly in 2004. He held the position of Team Leader and was a highly respected by his peers. Jim was due to relocate to the Wentzville Assembly of General Motors in Missouri on September 17th. A Memorial Service will be held Monday September 24 at 6:00 pm at The Cox Arboretum Gardens, 6733 Springboro Pike Dayton, Ohio 45449. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Cox Arboretum toward the purchase of a bench to be donated in his loving memory by family and friends.
