James Arthur Green, 87 years old passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019 at Patriot Ridge Community, Fairborn, OH where he had been a resident for a short time. Proceeded in death by his parents Frank and Evie Green, Brothers Robert and J.R. and sisters Helen, Louise, and Geneva. Born October 2, 1931 in Madisonville, TN. Korean War Veteran of US Army 1950-1952. Survived by the love of his life Lois June Powers, whom he married May 1, 1953, shared with him the joys and responsibilities of marriage for 64 years. They had three children, son Terry and wife Tami, son Keith proceeded him in death in 2014, and daughter Tammy and husband Chuck. He is also survived by his baby sister Sue and daughter-in-law, Lori Green. Poppy will be deeply missed by granddaughter Courtney and husband Brian with great grandchildren Chip and Everton, grandson Charlie and girlfriend Jordan, and granddaughter Caroline, granddaughter Amanda and husband Nick, and grandson Nathan. At age 17, James began working at GM in Dayton retiring after 44 years. He was a graduate of Patterson Co-Op Career Center in Dayton as a Model Maker. His family was his life and Uncle Art treated his nieces and nephews like they were his own children. A loving Christian man who will be greatly missed by his family and friends alike. A Celebration of his life will be held at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Dayton, Ohio 45429, Wednesday February 6th, 2019, visitation is from 10 to noon with services at noon. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, OH with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 46420.
