James Preston Roberts

Roberts, James Preston A lifelong Resident of Kettering Ohio went to be with the Lord and his two beautiful ladies Rena and Sherry Lynn on Thursday, April 5th in Charleston South Carolina where he lived with his niece Faye and her husband Tim Powell for the last couple of months. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rena Roberts; daughter , Sherry Lynn Roberts; his mother, Carrie Tankersley Roberts; father, James Franklin Roberts; four sisters, Cleo Smith ,Julia Gay, Mary Jenkins and Virginia Craft; two brothers, McMurray Roberts, Earl Roberts. Jim is survived by a nephew, Richie Roberts his wife Lojuanna Roberts of Somerset KY; his niece Faye Powell and her husband, Tim Powell of Charleston South Carolina and numerous other nephews and nieces. Jim was the owner of Roberts Jewelers located on Far Hills. He was a World War ll veteran where he served in the Air Force as a flight engineer. Jim was a lover of Golf and Ballroom dancing, with the love of his life Rena Roberts. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00p.m. at the Tobias Funeral Home Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Ave At Rahn Rd. Funeral services will follow immediately beginning at 1:00.
