Janet Lynn Moler, who passed away January 30, 2026, was born on September 7, 1951 in Dayton, Ohio. She attended Carroll High School and met the love of her life at CYO dances where Mike competed with and beat out all her rival admirers and they married June 7, 1968. They had three beautiful children and lived many years in Xenia, Ohio before moving to their dream home high on a hill in Spring Valley, Ohio. She worked at Patty Maids for several years where her managerial skills helped her build the company to a very successful cleaning service. She took time off to finish raising her children then worked with her sister Mary Lou and cousin Phyllis, all while caring for everyone else, especially her mother in her last years.
Janet was always a caregiver from the time she spent her entire summer with her aunt’s family in Iowa at the age of 16 helping to care for their five small children after a terrible car accident that seriously injured her Aunt and Uncle.
She was a loving, selfless, caring, thoughtful wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She and Mike downsized to their lovely home in Xenia, Ohio about 5 years ago where she enjoyed making jewelry, gardening, shopping, cooking and spending lots of time with family and friends. Her greatest joy was being a mawmaw and mummum to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Michael Moler Sr. She was a cherished mother to her son, Michael Moler Jr., and daughters, Lynn (Dave) Knox and Stephanie (Paul) Breedlove. As a beloved Mawmaw and Mummum, she leaves behind five grandchildren: Josh (Taylor) Knox, Kyle Knox, Noah Knox, Dallas Breedlove, and Jackson Breedlove, and four great-grandchildren; Karson, Makenzie, Colter and Ila.
Her surviving family also includes her brothers, Tom (Donna) Mundey, Dan (Marlene) Mundey, and Bobby (Sheila) Mundey; three sisters, Paula Mercuri, Connie Mundey, and JoAnne Mundey; and four sisters-in-law, Vicki (Dave) Whitehead, Kathy (Tom) Mills, Connie (Donnie) Jones, and Julie (Mike) Oakes. Janet was also loved by numerous nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucille Mundey, and siblings, William Mundey, Mary Lou McMahan, and David Mundey. She also lost a sister-in-law, Sandy Quillen, and special friends, Gail and Phil Stephens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Janet touched the lives of everyone she knew, she never met a stranger, and her kindness, love, and generosity will live forever in our hearts.
