

Jeanette Shirley Spencer, age 83 of Centerville, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at Kettering Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Red” Spencer in 1985 and a granddaughter, Angi Glotfelter in 1986. She is survived by four children: Sharon Gentile and husband Richard of AZ, Gary Spencer and wife Sandy of Centerville, Andi Kenworthy and husband Don of TN and Teri Bertrand and John Barnett of Lebanon. Four grandchildren also survive her: Zach Spencer (Christina), Dan Spencer (Liz) Joe Roberts and wife Ashley and Levon Spencer. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Toler of NJ and a brother-in-law, Gary Lee Spencer of Dayton. She was a second mother to Debbie Goodwin (Bart) of Waynesville. Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother who put her family above all else; she was also a retail sales manager at both Rinks and K-Mart. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Fred Wagshul and his staff for the quality years they added to Shirley’s life and to the staff of VITAS Hospice for their help as her life was finishing. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, March 30 at the funeral home with Pastor Don Payne officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens following the funeral. Contributions may be made to either the American Lung Association or VITAS Hospice in Shirley’s memory.
