KUCHENBROD, Jemmie Lou, July 22nd, 1948 – September 28th, 2014, of Centerville, Ohio. Jemmie Lou Crafton Kuchenbrod, gourmet cook, gardener extraordinaire, wife, mother, dear friend and the last one to leave every party died on September 28th, 2014. Jemmie was a passionate chef and foodie who enjoyed spending time reading and researching the latest ingredients, learning new cooking techniques, and creating amazing dishes to share with friends and family. She also loved to spend time in her garden, selecting the right flowers and plants to make the world a more beautiful place. Jemmie was a kind, loyal, generous friend. She was the first to reach to newcomers to their circle of friends to make them feel welcome. She was a good listener and trusted confidante, and was always there for her friends – whether it was helping wrap a slew of Christmas presents for a friend who just had surgery, or being a shoulder to lean on in a time of need. She was a devoted wife and mother who gave selflessly to her family. Jemmie met Charlie Kuchenbrod at the snackbar at Western Kentucky University in 1966, and they were married on August 15th, 1970, 44 years ago. Charlie has been under her spell of love, care and kindness ever since. Jemmie, never a fan of early rising, became a morning person with the arrival of daughter Susan – who she described as the sunshine of her life. She loved her family and was always fussing over them to make sure that they were cared for, even at the very end. Anyone who knew Jemmie immediately recognized her fun-loving spirit, and her joy of life. She loved hosting parties, entertaining friends in her home and dancing with Charlie at weddings. She was usually the last to leave every party, and truly knew how to celebrate life. Jemmie is survived by husband Charlie, daughter Susan, son in law Tom Higgins, sister Alice Murphree, five brother & sisters in law, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
