

Jeremy proudly served in the Army from 2008 to 2024, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. His military career took him to various parts of the world, including tours in Iraq (2009-2010), Afghanistan (2013), and Africa (2015-2016). Jeremy had many accolades including Drill Sergeant, Airborne and Air Assault qualifications. He earned numerous awards including Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, French Commando Course, and the Meritorious Service Medal. He was nominated to and became a member of the Order of Saint Maurice. His commitment to his country was unwavering and he left a lasting impact on those he served and worked alongside.
Jeremy enjoyed everything Harry Potter and was also an avid Ohio State University fan. He enjoyed sharing his passion for the game with others, even creating a 15-year long streak of Game Day messages with two friends, even when he was serving overseas. In recent years, he enjoyed traveling to different places with his family including a long awaited honeymoon with Jesse to the Maldives.
Jeremy is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Jesse Leigh Worthington and his children: Adilyn Alma Worthington and Alexander “Xander” James-Edward Worthington; his parents Dana and Donna Worthington; paternal grandparents Lyle and Francine Worthington; siblings, Susan, Randy, Amanda, Rachel, Dana, Andrew, and brother in heart, Robert; loving pets Chewy, Bella, and Bruno. As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many Army friends and family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Gobelle and Alma Moore and his beloved dog Buddy. His legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Jeremy’s life with Military Honors, at 11:00am on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton – Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The James Cancer Center (cancer.osu.edu) in Jeremy’s memory, to support further research to cure cancer.
