CREW, John W. III, 63 of Dayton, Ohio passed away at home Saturday, September 8, 2012. John was born December 8, 1948 to John W. Jr. and Myrtle (Johnson) Crew. He retired from AT & T after many years of service. John was an avid sports and race car fan and loved playing poker. He was a 1967 graduate of Belmont High School and briefly attended Wright State University. John had a sharp mind when it came to puzzle solving and enjoyed the “Thrill of the Hunt”. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two sisters Faye Ledwick and Jeff Steeprow of Centerville and Tricia and D. J. Pollitt of St. Charles, MO; two nieces Tracey and Russell Thie of Springboro, Angela and Don Morgan of Lebanon; 4 grandnephews and 1 grandniece, plus many lifelong friends. John’s family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME FAR HILLS CHAPEL AT RAHN ROAD, Monday, September 17, 2012 starting at 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of his life at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in David’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and in honor of John, hug & kiss the ones you love every chance you get.
