

Day, Jowanda Davis, age 84, of Beavercreek, OH passed away January 4, 2026. She was born to the late Thomas Thurston and Maxie (Whitaker) Davis on August 6, 1941 at Mill Branch, KY. She graduated from Whitesburg High School in 1959. She held positions in retail accounts payable and secretarial work until becoming a mother, and was an active community volunteer. She used her sewing talents to create clothing, intricate crochet items, many window coverings, dance costumes, and our beloved Christmas stockings. Jowanda was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James B. Day, and siblings Merlene Day, James Davis, and Thomas Davis. She is survived by daughters Katharine (Brian) Treml of Lebanon, OH and Elizabeth (Wade) Day of Amherst, NY, grandchildren Alexandra and Vanessa Treml, sisters Elaine Moore and Brenda Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with family and gardening. She was a woman of faith and is remembered as kind and generous. A private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.
