Kenneth S. Ryan, of Yellow Springs, died April 12. Born October 12, 1927 in Toluca, IL to Charles E. and Agnes (Kerr) Ryan, he was raised in Chicago and lived most of his life in the Dayton area. Ken spent his career in sales and made deliveries for Shumsky Enterprises for 14 years, retiring at age 79. Ken was a good man and a wonderful father. He was preceded in death by his parents, former wife Judith Ryan, sister-in-law Maria H. Ryan, brother Dennis P. and Sylvia Ryan. He is survived by his eldest brother Charles E. Ryan, Jr., son Timothy P. Ryan, daughter Cathleen J. Ryan, and daughter Amy L. Crawford and her husband Mark. Also surviving are his grandchildren Kelley Ryan, Louis Ryan, Matthew Crawford and wife Ana, Samuel Crawford, and Grant Crawford. A memorial service will be April 29 at 4:30 pm at the Yellow Springs United Methodist Church at 202 S. Winter Street, Yellow Springs, OH. Donations in his memory may be made to the Greene County Council on Aging or Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
