

Brown, Jane, age 94 of Dayton was born near Ada, Ohio on April 18, 1920 and died at the Hospice of Dayton on December 27, 2014. Jane was the third of three children born to Gottlieb and Cora Casper. She had a sister, Bernice and a brother, Harold, both deceased. She obtained a Music and English degree from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio and taught music in Amsden, Ohio prior to her marriage. She married her college sweetheart, Floyd Brown of Elmira, New York in 1943 who preceded her in death in 1998. Together they had three beloved sons, James (Rebecca) Brown, of Beavercreek, Robert Brown, of Dayton and Frederick Brown, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of cherished friends, neighbors and relatives. After marriage she taught private piano and organ lessons to many well loved students and served as organist at St. Mark's Lutheran Church for 38 years. A former member of St. Mark's, Jame was a member of Peace Luthern Church in Beavercreek. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015, from Peace Lutheran Church, 3530 Dayton-Xenia Road in Beavercreek with burial to follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church at the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given in her honor to Peace Lutheran Church or the Hospice of Dayton.
