

Schafer, Marcella (nee’ McEldowney), age 94 of Beavercreek, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Trinity Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert, in 1986, her parents, Lewis and Dora McEldowney, son-in-law, Ken Berger, grandson, Jason Berger, and 11 siblings. She is survived by her children: Ken and Freda Schafer, Chuck and Joyce Schafer, Linda and Jerry Moore, Debbie Berger, and her “adopted” son Chuck Timm and wife, Marion. Fourteen grandchildren also survive her: Joe and Sharma Nachlinger, Steve and Lyn Schafer, Kris and Greg Edwards, John and Angie Schafer, Carrie and Greg Johnson, Michael Berger, Lori and Andy Valerius, Kim Timm, John and Heather Timm, Angie Moore, Missy and Brian Bryant, Leslie and Scott Kilgore, and Emily and Steve Ison. Twenty great-grandchildren also survive her, as does one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Mangen and a sister-in-law, Wilma Baker, both of Greenville. Marcella was born in Versailles, OH. She worked as a seamstress for many years and was a member of St. Luke Parish. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Sunday afternoon, October 25 from 3-6 PM. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 9:45 AM Monday morning, October 26 prior to the funeral Mass at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd. at 10:30 AM on Monday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either Trinity Community or Hospice of the Miami Valley in Marcella’s memory. The family would like to extend their appreciation and thanks to the doctors, nurses and all the staff who aided in Marcella’s care.
