Maria Namie Jones was a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Married 43 years to her husband, Martin D Jones and had 5 children, 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was a fabulous chef, had a green thumb like no other, a teacher to many, and a servant to her faith. To say she will be missed is an understatement. She was the matriarch of the family. She was stranger to no one and would offer the shirt off her back or the food in her fridge to anyone in need. When possible, she delivered the meals as a surprise. She felt the need to connect and nurture all lives. Aside from her family, she was most proud of her career as a chef for 11 years at the University of Dayton. It gave her an opportunity to meet many people from around the world and practice her culinary skills.
Remember her laugh and smile when you miss her.
Her absence will leave a void in many but her memory will carry on.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St Helen Catholic Church, Riverside. The family will receive friends at the Tobias Funeral Home_ Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. from 9 am – 10:30 am on Saturday, September 11.
