Marianne L. Kirby, age 62, of Chester Twp., formerly of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away Sunday February 12, 2023. She is survived by Husband of 42 years, Dale J. Kirby; Daughter, Amy Koppe (Sven) and two children, Connor and Carson of Selbitz, Germany; Son, Andrew (Julie) Kirby of Ithaca, New York; Brother, Joseph J. Sedlock (Dianna) of Beavercreek, Ohio and their adult children, Natalie Minnich (Jacob), Kelsey Sedlock, and Molly Sedlock; Parents; Joseph A. Sedlock and Dolores A. (Meyer) Sedlock of Chester Twp. formerly of Beavercreek, Ohio. Marianne is also survived by her beloved animals, five parrots, three horses and mule, three dogs, two cats, one clown fish, and the thousands of birds, bees, and butterflies on the five-acre wildlife sanctuary she created for them.
Marianne lived most of her life in Beavercreek, Ohio, and was a 1978 graduate of Beavercreek High School. She completed her Associates Degree in Executive Secretarial Studies from Sinclair Community College. She worked outside the home in her field of study after completing her education and marriage. Her interests shifted to being a full-time mother upon the birth of her second child Andrew. She became passionate about creating beauty through nature at each of her homes throughout the years. Her most recent project was architecting a wildflower sanctuary on her rural mini-farm in Clinton County where she resided for the last three and a half years with her husband Dale.
Those who knew Marianne found the bond of friendship irresistible, and for most, enduring for a lifetime. Never in the spotlight, Marianne architected unique life experiences for family, friends, exchange students, and many others. She invited friends and family to participate in 55 adventures with her, the year of her 55th birthday, coaxing many onto the water, out on the trail, and skyward via sailplane.
Marianne supported many charitable causes but had a special interest in the Beavercreek Wetlands Association. Always at home and in love with nature, Marianne enjoyed horseback riding, hiking, and traveling to see nature. She profoundly experienced life visiting the rainforests of Costa Rica and Ecuador and trail riding in the wilds of South Dakota. She was generous with her time and her resources, expressing gratitude for anyone who blessed her life. Her life reflected her convictions, and she lived it fully, believing that the only moment we have assurance of is the one we are experiencing now. She will be dearly missed by all, never far from our thoughts, even as her presence remains.
Donations may be made in Marianne’s name to Beavercreek Wetlands Association or Hospice of Dayton.
A graveside service will take place at The Saint Kateri Preserve at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday February 18, 2023 at 1pm.
