

Marlene was a teacher for many years in the Kettering School system. She was an avid Bridge player, enjoyed china painting, and was a very active and longtime member at Fairhaven Church. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and was the best Nana ever.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry E. McVey, parents Howard and Edith Barnhart, and sister Ruth Skillings.
Marlene is survived by a son David McVey, daughter Ann (Kris) Foster, Step-daughter Debra (David) Cline, daughter-in-law Gina McVey, sister Martha Orr, 7 grandchildren: Scott (Olivia) McVey, Tim McVey, Matt McVey, Kate Foster (Zach), Alex Foster, Claire Foster (Seth) and Allen (Amanda) Cline, and by great grandchildren Vinny and Josie McVey, and Jacob and Anna Cline.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 pm, all at Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd. Burial will be in David’s Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Lutheran Village and especially Ohio Living Bethany Hospice for their compassion and care.
