Mary Moon

MOON, MARY ANN, age 88 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday March 27, 2025 at her residence at 10 Wilmington Place. She was born on July 25, 1936 in Aurora, Illinois to the late Henry and Susie (Volpendesta) Salerno. She married Earl L. Paul on August 11, 1956 and he passed away on February 20, 1995. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Dana Taylor and her sister Bonnie Campbell.

Mary is survived by her children Elizabeth (Mark) Demma, Bradley (Marti) Paul and Douglas (Julie) Paul, son in law Zachary Taylor, grandchildren Michelle (Jason) Decharo, Zane (Chelsea) Taylor, Ashley (Jason) Carter, Christopher (Kaylee) Milewski, Andrew (Mina) Milewski, Katie Hewitt, Mitchell (Haley) Paul, Kelsey (Zachary) Paul and Macie Hewitt, and 10 Great Grandchildren, brother Donald (Donna) Salerno, sister Nancy (Robert) Scott, brother in law Robert Campbell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was a proud Military wife and mother. She volunteered as a Grey Lady, taking care of moms and new babies. As a military wife, she helped put on Tea Parties for the Airmen’s Spouses. She enjoyed sewing clothes for herself and her children. She worked in retail selling cosmetics at Elder Beerman.

Mom’s favorite thing to do was painting and taking art lessons. She participated in many art shows. Mom enjoyed planning Christmas parties for the family and Open House for friends.

A memorial graveside service will be planned for a later date. Mary will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn with her husband Earl.
