

Rupert, Mary Roselyn “Rose”, age 96 of Dayton passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. She was born in Covington, KY to the late Stella and Harry Schneider. Preceded in death by her husband Clifford J. Rupert; 2 sisters and a brother: Stella Marie Peeno, Martha J. Acree, and Raymond Schneider; 2 grandsons, Alan R. Patterson and Dan Michael Phillips; granddaughter Robin Louise Phillips; and sons-in-law Walter R. “Butch” Patterson and Edward Dale Phillips. Survived by daughters Carole R. Phillips and Roberta A. Patterson; sister Harriet Armstrong and sister-in-law Henrietta Schneider, both of Erlanger, KY; special friend Lester Jones; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special mention to the family of Glenn and Dottie Swikert. Rose retired from Delco Products/General Motors after 30 years and was a long-time member of Ascension Catholic Church. She belonged to the AARP local Chapter, was in the Rosie Reds Fan Club, and was a long-time volunteer at the Lohrey Center in Belmont. Rose also worked the election polls, volunteered at the C.I. Lathrem Center in Kettering where she was one of “Charlie’s Clowns,” and also the United Cerebral Palsy Org. in Dayton. Rose supported several charities as well as her family; she had a lifetime of service to others. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her name at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Dr., Kettering. Friends may visit at the church from 9:30-10:30 am. Burial in Dayton National Cemetery immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420. Services in care of Tobias Funeral Home, Belmont Chapel.
