

STRAMPFER, Mary Elizabeth, age 86 of Centerville, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at Miami Valley Hospital South after a long battle with Lymphoma. Mary was born on June 11, 1926 in Lusby Mill, Kentucky to the late Grover Simpson and Zula (Martin) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Berley F. Strampfer in 1988; a sister, Virginia O’Banion; and two brothers, W.C. Johnson and Charles Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Hacker and Nancy (Tim) Houtz; four granddaughters, Jennifer (Jeff) Houtz-Gillman, Emma Hacker, Erika Houtz and Christina Houtz; three great-grandchildren, Aidan Hacker, Eleanor and Elizabeth Gillman; and a sister, Elvena Ayres. Mary worked in the Stebbins High School office for 32 years in student services. She was a member of the Stebbins High School Boosters and a longtime member of Community United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The family will receive friends from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at St. Leonard’s Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd., Centerville, Ohio 45458, with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
