we moved across the street from Melda and her family when I was 7 years old.  Soon my brother found out he could deliver papers because Melda was the area distributor.  I joined right behind him when there were two papers delivered daily.  She did the Dayton Daily news for which we delivered everyday after school.  She taught me about money and net and profit and so many things stimulating my mind to be an entrepreneur.  at 8 years old.  
I was close to the kids she raised but David passed so early and Mike and Scotti went on their own paths as did I.  
but my mom remained very close to Mel, as she called her.  I would intervene in her desire to send love to Mel when my dad had tried to put a wedge in their relations.  They were girlfriends and dad didn't like it.  that was his problem.  She was my mom's best friend.  bless Melda.  bless her soul.

To the Pankiewicz Family I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to you all.  We moved into Trinity at the very beginning of COVID-19 and didn't meet very many neighbors.  But I recognized Melda's name on the mailbox.  Really wanted to meet her.  But that never happened.  
  Melda is now resting peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus.
