Miller S. Makey Jr.

MAKEY Miller Stauch Makey Jr. of Beavercreek died suddenly May 31, 2013 at 71 years of age. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Geraldine (Kiene) Makey and his father Miller Stauch Makey Sr. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Elaine Schommer-Makey, of Beavercreek, Ohio, his sister, Cynthia Anne Little of Birmingham, Alabama; his children, Marie Fazio and Kristian Makey, of Germany; stepchildren, Lynne Fritz (Joseph Fritz) of Dayton, Jeffery Schommer (Lana Mayhew-Schommer) of Dayton, Christopher Schommer (Susan Schommer) of Toledo; nephews, Douglas Shrewsbury and Gregory Shrewsbury of Birmingham AL.; grandchildren, Guiseppe Fazio, Dominic (Nico) Fazio, Paolo Fazio, and Jacamo Fazio, all in Germany; Mathew Ankeny, Diana Ankeny, Jessica Fritz, Patrick Schommer, Nicholas Schommer and Samuel Schommer; great -grandchildren, Breonna Reid, Madelyn Ankeny, Allison Ankeny; and great nephew, Nickolas Shrewsbury of Birmingham. Miller served four years in the US Air Force and then graduated from the Ohio State University and Ohio University. He practiced Forensic Psychology at Eastway Behavioral Healthcare until recently when he retired after 30 years of service. At Eastway, he was the Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer, and Director of Forensic Services. Miller was a surveyor for the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), he was also consultant to the Dayton Police Department Hostage Negotiations Team. He had been a Part-Time Instructor at Ashland College, Ohio North Central Technical College in Mansfield Ohio. Miller has published several articles in Professional Journals. He was an avid golfer and racquetball player. Friends may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Wednesday, June 5th from 5 PM -7 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 7 PM following the viewing. Refreshments will be served following the funeral. Contributions may be made to the charity of the giver’s choice in Miler’s memory.
