Monie Ethel Sparks

Sparks, Monie Ethel, age 96 of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Sparks in 1974; parents George and Susie Hinton; brothers Earsel, Charles, Billy, Karl, Keith, and Barry Hinton; sister Marie Kidd and Susie Lynn, and sons-in-law Donald Hall and Greg Murphy. Monie is survived by her children Rita Hall, Kathy Sparks-Murphy, Dennis (Linda) Sparks, and Glennis (Kathy) Sparks; 12 grandchildren Donald Hall, Brian Hall, Tonya Czaplicki, David (Theresa) Murphy, Deborah (Rusty) Murphy Walley, Dwayne Murphy, Heath Sparks, Samantha Faul, Nathan (Dustine) Sparks, Jessica (Andy) Rogers, Erica (Willis) Fawcett, and Alexa Sparks; great-grandchildren Ashley Shaw, Dylan Czaplicki, Victoria McDaniel, Alex Murphy, Nicholas Murphey, Brandon Peterson, Sarah Peterson, Abigail Peterson, Emily Peterson, Alren Faul, Triston Rogers, Sophie Rogers, Willis Fawcett Jr., and Brealyn Sparks; great-great-grandchildren Kaine Peterson, Amara Houck, Wrenly Arden, Brodhi Arden, Kian Shaw, Ezra Shaw, and Evan Shaw; sister Leta Caudill, and brother Von Hinton. Monie worked hard for so many years for her family. She loved gardening, quilting, and especially her grandchildren. Monie was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles, photography, gospel and country music, westerns and mysteries. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel. Interment to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 pm – 1pm, Monday, March 24.
