PERKINS, Norma L. (Crawford), age 88 formerly of Kettering, passed Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Symphony of Centerville. Norma was born on November 22, 1932 to Thomas Lavern and Florence Marilyn (Greene) Crawford. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Orville “Babe” Perkins and brother Michael Mahaffey. She is survived by her daughters Julie (Jim) Anderson and Jane (Craig) Brown; grandchildren Brian (Karen) Ankney, Kelly (Nick) Cardillo, Eric and Nick Brown; great-grandchildren Benicio and Luciana Cardillo, and sister-in-law Sue Mahaffey. Norma was a proud 1952 graduate of Wilber Wright High School and stayed in contact with classmates at yearly reunions. Her friendships from “Harshmanville” lasted a lifetime. It was during high school that she met the love of her life, Babe. They were married for 55 years until he passed in 2008. During Babe’s illness, she was his constant companion and caregiver. Norma was a devoted grandmother who attended countless hockey games, dance recitals, piano lessons, and basketball and football games. In 2018 through Ancestry.com, we discovered that Norma had a ½ brother. At the age of 83, she met, and quickly loved, her brother, Mike Mahaffey. Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Symphony of Centerville who took such loving care of Mom. She made friends and enjoyed her time there. We also wish to thank Christina and the entire Hospice of Dayton team that comforted us all during her final days.
