

SCHUMACHER, Paul Jacob JR. 80 (Jake) of Kettering former owner and operator for over 40 years of the Kettering Village Inn passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday April 4, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Jacob SR and mother Helen Lantz-Schumacher, and sister Karen Smith. Jake was born in Dayton Ohio in 1932 and was raised in the Kettering/Oakwood area and was a graduate of Fairmont High school. He was an example of unconditional love and never met a stranger. He was an avid golfer, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He proudly served during the Korean conflict. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Margaret (Maggie), proud father of 2 sons, Paul-PJ (Jeanette), Eddie (Laura) and 5 loving daughters, Cara (Frank), Dara (Mike), Stephanie, Lara (Greg), and Christie. He had 17 wonderful grandchildren and 1 very special great granddaughter Isabella Marie. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Road. The service will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery . Donations may be made in Jake’s memory to Hospice of Dayton or The American Heart Association.
