Rae Ann (Erisman) Brooks, age 74, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2023, with her husband by her side. She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Agnes Klein, parents Flora (Klein) and Raymond Erisman Jr. and her sister Agnes Lorene Doughty. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Robert Brooks. She is also survived by her sister Berta Huse, in-laws Clyde (Martha) Doughty, Teresa Brooks, Steve (Mary Jo) Brooks and Dan (Cindy) Brooks. Nephews Brian (Julia) Doughty, Kevin Huse and Steven Brooks. Nieces Cheryl (Paul) Colton, Renee (John) Steinke and Ashley (Todd) Novak. One great-nephew Travis Colton, three great-nieces, Morgan Colton, Samantha Doughty, and Reagan Doughty. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Pam Liebhard and Cindy (Diller) Fields along with cats, Henri, Simone, Speedy, Tux, Sampson and Herr Geld.
She graduated from Belmont High School, Miami University and Wright State University. Rae Ann taught French for Tipp City Schools for 35 years where she took high school students on trips to Europe. In her younger years, she was an avid Girl Scout, even being selected to attend The Girl Scout Round-Up in Idaho in 1965. In her 40’s, she began ice skating at the Kettering Recreation Center and skated competitively with several clubs along with individual competitions into her 70’s.
Rae Ann and Rob traveled extensively and loved camping, hiking, biking, kayaking, scuba diving and just being outdoors. She loved animals, especially cats.
Rae Ann was strong-willed but kind and lived life on her own terms.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22nd from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2300 S. Smithville Road, Dayton, OH 45420. Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
