

Regina M. (Weilbacher) Rosier age 77, of Urbana Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025. She was surrounded by her devoted husband James D. Rosier along with her stepdaughter Meredith Rosier and her husband Chris Matheny.
Regina was born on March 28, 1947 and grew up in Columbus Ohio where she graduated from St. Mary’s of the Springs Academy. She then went on to receive an undergraduate degree in early childhood education from Ohio University and her doctorate from Ohio State University. She was professor Emerita of education at Urbana University where she taught for many years. Her research in the Froebel Kindergarten methods of teaching can be found quoted by authors all over the world. She was also instrumental in researching and championing Caroline Louise Frankenberg, a “Pioneer Kindergarten Teacher “ with a historical marker at the corner of Rich Street and Pearl Alley in Columbus Ohio.
Regina was preceded in death by her loving parents Paul and Dorothy Weilbacher. Jim’s father and mother Darrel and Dianne Rosier cherished her as well.
Regina will be greatly missed by so many including her sister Nancy (Tom) Watkins and remembered as “Aunt Gina” to her nieces and nephews, Wendy ( Nathan) Harrison, Amy (Phil) Wozniak, Phillip (Maggie) Watkins and Andrew (Jessica) Watkins and families. She will also be greatly missed by her goddaughter Carolyn (Brad) Barboza, her aunts Sr. Bernice Weilbacher, and Mary A. Weilbacher and many many cousins. Additionally she will be dearly remembered by extended family members Bill and Georgie Rosier.
Regina had a variety of interests including a special love for books, poetry, antiques, the Amish community, English Cottage gardens, German Village, birdwatching and photography. She had a special gift with young children and love for animals especially her many horses and dogs over the years. Some of her happiest days were spent at Breezy Knoll Farm with her family and beloved horses as well as the peaceful surroundings of her countryside farmhouse.
Regina was a kind, generous and gentle soul. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched knowing they had been blessed to have known her.
Regina will be laid to rest in Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, Ohio.
