

DURHAM, Robert Gideon age 81 of Beavercreek, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 15, 2012. Born in Mallory, WV on January 19, 1931, Robert served four years in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was privileged to have served his 38 year career with the USAF Institute of Technology at WPAFB retiring in 1989. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joanne; daughter, Deborah (Bruce) Carle of MD; son, Richard (Lisa) Durham of Beavercreek; brother, Jim (Jane) Durham of KY; mother-in-law, Vivian Fraley of OH; sisters-in-law, Jean Durham of NY and Toni Durham of WV; brother-in-law, Jim Fraley of WV; daughter-in-law’s mother, Winnie Whitaker; and special niece, Jean Payne. Robert has four grandchildren, Kris Carle, Kari Carle, Robert W. and Jessica Durham; one great-grandson, Cooper; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Joseph and Willie Durham; and eight brothers and sisters, Pauline, Edna, Liz, Alma, Lila, Hubert, J.E. Jr. and Harvey. Memorial services and inurnment will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, OH 45409 with Rev. David Brown officiating.
