SHRODER, Robert M., age 87 of Kettering, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at his residence. Robert was born on May 13, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio to Windle and Rachel Shroder. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara; children, Chanda Dicke, Bob (Katy) Shroder, Ron (Sue) Shroder, and Steve (Kim) Shroder; step son Don (Tina) McLaughlin; 14 grandchildren; a great grandson; and a brother, Dr. Richard Shroder. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Chotty Crouch; and a brother, Ronald E. Shroder. Robert was a graduate of Fairmont High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and retired from DP&L after 42 years. He was a member of the Church of the Cross United Methodist Church, Mystic Lodge F & AM, and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. In 1972, Kettering Oakwood Times recognized him as Father of the Year.
