

Robert E Tracy Jr. was born on January 21, 1952 in Gary, Indiana, to Robert E Tracy and Katherine Kiesling Tracy. He was raised in Satellite Beach, FL where he learned to love the ocean and watch space shuttle launches from Cape Canaveral. He graduated from Satellite Beach High School in 1970 and went on to Auburn University where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1974. Upon graduation, he received his commission as an officer in the United States Navy and served as a Surface Warfare Officer. While on active duty, he received his Master of Business Administration from Bryant University. He retired as a Navy Commander after 21 years of active service. He then worked with the AK Steel corporation until retirement in 2017. While transferring between naval bases in 1975, he met Catharine Kiefer, who would become his best friend and travel partner. They were married on April 26, 1980.
Throughout his life he was an extremely kind and generous man. He cherished time with his wife and family, reading, gardening vegetables, watching Auburn football, and traveling. He was an animal lover and valued time with his dogs Bo and Sheba.
He passed peacefully at home on January 9th, 2026, with family at his bedside. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catharine, his two children Catharine Anna Tracy and Dr. Robert Conaty Tracy, his daughter in law Dr. Trisha Marshall, and his granddaughters Cecilia and Elliot Tracy.
Visitation will be held from 9:30am until 10:30am on Friday, January 16, 2026 at St Luke Catholic Church, 1440 North Fairfield Rd Beavercreek, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am. No graveside services.
