

OGROD, Stephen John, age 80 of Bellbrook, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at St. Leonard’s, Centerville, Ohio. He was a graduate of Bowen High School, Chicago, Illinois in 1953, attended DePaul University and was a USAF Veteran. He worked as a buyer/purchasing agent for several Major corporations during his career, retiring from the DOD/Gov’t Services. He was active at various Catholic parishes during his lifetime including the Knights of Columbus. A devoted lifetime Chicago Cubs fan & adopted Reds fan. He loved his pets (dogs & cats) and his family. He enjoyed Latin music, loved to sing, and was kind, lighthearted and faithful. He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Philip Ogrodowicz; mother, Caroline (Dziubarczyk) Rydzewski; brother, James Rydzewski; step-father, John Rydzewski. He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Elizabeth (Betty); son, Philip of Bellbrook; cousins, Linda Dee of Illinois, Carol Harrington of Wisconsin, and Dorothy Grems of Wisconsin; in-laws, Bob & Joan Barton of South Carolina; along with several nephews, nieces, & Friends. The family will greet family and friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45459, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Father Tom Schmidt officiating. Luncheon reception afterwards in the church hall. Final resting place will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Illinois.
