

Aylstock, Sue Ellen. age 64, passed away February 18, 2022. Sue was a nurse, an educator, a lifelong learner and had a genuine curiosity for the wonders of life. She was born in 1957 to Robert and Rosemary Aylstock in Cincinnati. She was a graduate of Fairmont East High School. She earned Bachelors degrees in English, Spanish, and Nursing from Berea College in Kentucky. She received her Masters degree in 1986 from the University of Dayton. She also studied abroad taking classes in Valencia, Spain and at La Universidad de Filosofia y Letras. She worked in various positions at Berea College and Grandview Hospital while completing her studies. Sue worked as a Registered Nurse at Miami Valley Hospital before becoming a full time educator teaching English and Spanish at several area junior and senior high schools. She retired from teaching at Springboro High School in 2014. Sue loved to travel and cruised to many locations including Alaska, New England, Canada and the Caribbean, all with friends and family accompanying her. In addition to travel she enjoyed writing, reading, photography, and swimming. She was a collector, searching for dominoes, chess sets, Coca-Cola merchandise, playing cards, postcards, photographs and wooden puzzle boxes. She was active in Cub/Boy Scouts of America when her son, Jesse was active in scouting. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert “Bob” Chapman; and by sisters, Joyce Ann Aylstock and Barbara Ann Aylstock. She is survived by her son, Jesse; and by a niece, Mary Elizabeth Malchow. Services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 11:00 am at Greenmont – Oak Park Community Church, 1921 Woodman Dr.
