Ted L. Applegate, age 74 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas A. Applegate in 1992, and by two brothers: Tim Applegate and Richard Melke. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Applegate. His son, Ted S. Applegate also survives him, as do five grandchildren: Sarah, Michael, Ted, Thomas and Kaitlin. He is survived by his brother, Ned (Kathy) Applegate and daughter-in-law Linda Applegate. Ted was retired from GM Harrison Radiator following 25 years of service as a millwright and welder, as well as a member of the GM Fire Department. He also served as a firefighter and EMT/Paramedic in Harrison Township for many years; as well as having worked for 15 years at Firestone Dayton Tire. He was a member and past master of Solar Lodge 290, F&AM and Germantown Lodge #257, as well as the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, and a member of the Oddfellows. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 11 AM until 1 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, May 23, 2016. Interment will be in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
