

SNYDER, Thelma (Loeb), age 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Bethany Lutheran Village, Centerville. She was a lifelong resident of the Dayton area. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Warren E. Snyder who passed away on June 2, 2011; by her parents Fred and Rose Loeb; brother Norman (“Bud”) Loeb and his wife Dorothy; and sister Jeanette Loeb Bistline and her husband Robert. Thelma is survived by one daughter, Dr. Linda June Snyder of Centerville; five nieces: Connie Loeb (Jerry) Leo of Dayton, Bobbi Ann Bistline (Ken) Carpenter of Beavercreek, Sharon Loeb Baer of Dayton, Cindi Bistline (Rick) Walker of Grand Rapids MI, and Nadine Loeb of Lewiston, Maine; cousin Rosemary C. Loeb of Centerville; cousin Dorothy Wagner Wefler of Dayton; and grand and great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Thelma was a graduate of Stivers High School, Class of 1936, and prior to marriage worked for Frigidaire Division of GM. Thelma and Warren enjoyed many travels together. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church (Dayton) and later at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior where she was very active with the Altar Guild and the JOY Group (Just Older Youth). She will be remembered for her deep devotion to Dayton history, the arts, and her family and friends; and as an excellent homemaker and cook whose recipes have been shared far and wide. The family is grateful to the caring staff of both Bethany Lutheran Village and Hospice of Dayton for their assistance and support. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 with the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 155 E. Thruston Blvd., Oakwood, Ohio 45419, Pastor Gary Eichhorn officiating. Burial at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
