Thomas "Tom" E. Begley

Thomas E. Begley age 85, of Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday, August 17, 2023 at his residence in Beavercreek. Tom graduated Wilber Wright High School and was a Self-educated student of life. He retired after 34 years of service from Duriron Company and was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed his gardening, he loved tinkering in the garage with his endless projects and inventions. He was also an avid Fighting Irish Football fan and Cincinnati Reds. Tom was devoted to his wife and family, happily enjoyed family events and spending time with those he loved. He was a student and lover of life and was wise, always teaching through stories but the lessons were learned by the way he lived and loved. His happiness and joy was infectious to all and Everyday was a Good Day!

He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Agnes Begley and two brothers, Jack and Jim Begley. Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bonnie and their children; Greg (Erin) Begley, Cindy Shisler, Patty (Steve) Holley, Tim (Candy) Begley, and Matt (Michelle) Begley; sister, Mary Haverstock; 14 grandchildren; Jake (Amy), Melissa (Tommy), Ryan (Heidi) and Brandon, Danny, Holly, Jesse (Angie), Adam (Andrea), Ben (Kate), Rachel (Barry), Cody, Savannah, Bronson, and Kayla, 17 great grandchildren; Jayden, Josiah, Jonathan, Willow, Ollie, Wyatt, Ashlyn, Kylie, Myles, Cora, Jenna, Austin, Scarlett, Dylan, Gavin, Charlie, and Alexandra, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Tom will be loved and missed.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 25, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 411 E. 2nd. Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402. Burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
