Thurman D Smith

SMITH, Thurman D, age 75 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Thurman W. and Pauline Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara A (nee Jones); son, Andrew T. and fiancé Kelly; daughter, Jill M. Reese and husband Shawn; sister, Corryne Smith; and grandchildren, Zachary Reese, Corey Reese, Adam Reese, and Gavin Smith. Thurman was a lifelong magician and model train enthusiast. He graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1957, received his Undergraduate degree from Capital University and Master’s degree from University of Dayton. He was a former Dayton Police officer and retired from the Montgomery County Health Department. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will take place at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave at Fauver Ave, on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00am, with Pastor Jackie Nowak officiating. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of services.
