

WINTER, Victoria Elizabeth (Megel), age 97 passed away Wednesday, March 27th, 2013 at her home. Victoria was born September 14th, 1915 in North Vernon, Indiana, to the late Nicholas & Elizabeth (Gerth) Megel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Winter, her grandson, Philip Stohr and her 5 sisters and 1 brother. Victoria is survived by her 5 children Lois (Richard) Keil, Tom (Kathy) Winter, Mary Borger, Janet (Stephen) Stohr, Jeanie (William) West, 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. They are joined in grief by her many adoring nieces and nephews along with extended family and friends. Victoria grew up on a farm in North Vernon, Indiana, before moving to Cincinnati until getting married and moving to Dayton, Ohio in 1945. Victoria was an exceptional mother, loving and caring grandmother, and a devout Catholic. She created wonderful memories for her family. Victoria was known for her baked goods of chocolate chip cake, coffee cake, sugar and moon cookies, strawberry pie, chocolate roll, and cream puffs. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her and she will be severely missed. The family would like to express a sincere thanks to Victoria's caregivers for the care provided to our mother. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 1st, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429. On Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 visitation will be at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, Ohio 45429 at 11:00am. , followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.
