Virginia Clair Drake

DRAKE, Virginia Clair (nee Kiefer), age 92, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, E. Ray and Hilda Kiefer; her brothers, R. Joseph and Robert L. Kiefer; her sister, Helen Haher; her son, Walter P. (Pete) Drake II; and her husband, Walter P. Drake. She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Miller (Patrick) of Kettering OH and Tamara Zompetti (Anthony) of Oakwood OH; and the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Nicole Lau (Ryan) of San Francisco CA, Tessa Drake Coleman of Benicia CA, Drake Miller of New York NY, Lee Miller of New York NY, and Elizabeth Lewis (AJ) of Beavercreek OH. Virginia retired from the Centerville City Schools. She volunteered for the City of Kettering, Dayton Public Schools and the Kettering Medical Center. She leaves behind many friends especially her best friend Flora Call of Kettering OH and her cousin Ralph Heitmeyer of Cincinnati OH. Virginia loved life and was a very giving person. She will be missed by those whose lives she touched. Family will receive visitors from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429, with the memorial service at 5:00 p.m. Virginia’s final disposition will be cremation.
