
BAKER, Walter C. (Cliff)age 89, of Kettering passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011. Cliff was born in Dayton on January 29, 1922 to Mary and Earl Baker. He graduated from Steele High School in the last class in 1940. Cliff served three years in the United States Air Force during WWII as a photographer in Canada and Alaska. He worked at NCR for 40 years as a Journeyman Toolmaker and Manufacturing Engineer. He retired in 1980 then went to work at M&M Precision Systems in West Carrollton as a Materials Manager. In 1987 Cliff retired again at the age of 65. Cliff was a Kettering Hospital Volunteer for 23 years, with over 9500 hours of service. He worked the Information Desk as an escort and photographer…he loved his volunteering job very much. Cliff was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge charter member Alpha #729, AASR Valley of Dayton, American Legion Post #598, and VFW Post #9927. Cliff is survived by his former wives LaFern Colville(Quellhorst), the mother of his children, and Clara Baker , son Ronald(Ginny)Baker of Centerville, daughters; Patricia(Charles)Ellsworth of Mason, and Linda(Robert ‘Bat’)Battigaglia of Bellbrook, grandchildren; Jennifer Reidy, Amy Cole, Bob Battigaglia, Sarah Kostka, Mark Becker, Ellen Wieger, Cindy Hack, and Debi Berry, and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral service 12 noon Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- Far Hills Chapel. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
