

Wilma Jean Liles was born on May 19, 1942, to Bedford and Nora (Whitaker) Combs in Clayhole Kentucky. She was a resident of Beavercreek Ohio for most of her life. Wilma passed away peacefully at home on June 11 at the age of 83. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Robert, Stanley, and Anna Smith; her devoted husband, Ray, of 62 years; her beloved son, Dean; and her precious grandson, Jason.
Wilma graduated from Patterson High School in Dayton. She held various administrative positions with Gem City Savings & Loans and Lion Uniform Corporate Office working in payroll and accounting, however her life was always centered around family. A dedicated mother in her early years raising three sons with warmth, wisdom, and gentle care. Through her deep ambition and self-motivation, she took courses at Sinclair Community College and Wright State University. After earning her nursing degree in 1986, she began working as a registered nurse in the surgical unit at Grandview Hospital. Later, she retired from a long rewarding career taking care of patients at the Heartland of Beavercreek Extended Care Facility. She had a deep appreciation for simple, beautiful moments in life. She loved spending time gardening, cooking, reading, and caring for her pets, occasionally wild animals that found refuge in her backyard. Her kindness and generous nature made her home a welcome place of warmth and love felt by all.
Wilma leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, and quiet strength that will forever continue in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Those left to mourn her loss are two sons, Kerry (Sylvia), and Jeff (Vicki); eight grandchildren, Douglas, Nikki Staley (Marvin), Robert Brewer, Joseph (Ashley), Dylan (Samantha), Jessica Thomas (Anthony), Justin, Joshua, and Jennifer; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Grice, Grace Burger (David), Rhonda Lowry, nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 21st, at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road. Visitation from 11 am to 12 pm with funeral services immediately following. Interment will be at Mount Zion Park Cemetery, 27 South Fairfield Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Flowers may be sent to Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek.
