Alonzo Maxie, 71, passed away on August 24, 2017. He was born on October 9, 1945 in Bath, Kentucky to parents Garfield and Della Maxie. Alonzo was a loving husband and father. He was a devoted truck driver for over 30 years. One word to describe Alonzo would have to be selfless. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and spending time outside. Alonzo will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Alonzo is preceded in death by parents and his three sisters, Aileene Adkins, Lillian Gilley, and Rhoda Hatala.
Alonzo is survived by his loving and devoted wife Janice Maxie; son, Alonzo Maxie Jr.; four daughters, Della Dellapella, Sandy Maxie, Andrea Sumner, and Heather Ann Maxie; two brothers, Carl D. Maxie, Warren G. Maxie; three sisters, Lola B. Stover, Mettie Dudley, and Virginia Holderfield. A host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at 2 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Turner officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 6pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
